Travelers on vacation to New York are often overwhelmed by the number of tourist destinations that the city offers. There are several top destinations for visitors that will help to avoid this confusion whether travelers arrive from around the United States or through those international flights.
New York is home to many excellent museums. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the top art museums in the world and features paintings spanning from masterpieces to modern art. The Empire State building mixes the city’s history with spectacular views on both the 86th floor and 102nd floor. Anyone should be prepared for a wait to experience the attraction but it is well worth the delay. For an extra look at not just the city’s but the United States’ history, visit Ellis Island. Many immigrants to America first came to the island on their journey towards citizenship. Guided tours are available as well as self-paced audio tours.
